Cox Requiem and Chichester Psalms at Gloucester Cathedral

On Friday I sang in a concert at the glorious Gloucester Cathedral with St.Cecilia Singers under Jonathan Hope. the concert was postponed from before Covid (!) so it was a delight to be able finally perform it.

During the first half I sang solos in a performance of Neil Cox’s Requiem, in just the second performance of the work. Neil wrote the solos with my voice in mind, and I find they sit very well for me and allow me to communicate the beautiful text effectively.

In the second half I sang the solos in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, one of my very favourite solos to sing. It was a treat to sing it in such a wonderful acoustic and setting. A review of the concert is below, and I’m very grateful for John Quinn’s kind words about my singing.
