St. Matthew Passion with Armonico Consort

Over Easter I sang two concerts of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, one of my very favourite pieces, with Armonico Consort. The concerts were in St. Mary’s in Warwick and Malvern Theatres, two very contrasting venues. I shared the alto solos, singing ‘Können Tranen meiner Wangen’ and ‘Ach nun is mein Jesus’ hin as step-outs. It was a chance to spend some time in the Midlands, where I grew up. A combination of Bach’s glorious music and time at home with family made for a wonderful few days.
