Bach’s Cantata 75 with London Bach Society

On Friday I sang Bach’s Cantata 75, Die Elenden sollen essen, as part of a concert with LBS at St. Bartholomew-the-Great in Smithfield. The Cantata was sung one to a part, and it was a treat to sing the rousing aria ‘Jesus macht mich gesitlich reich.’ The Cantata’s choruses are stirring and energetic, making for a challenging but thrilling evening!

This was LBS’s first concert since Covid, and also featured the Sinfonia from BWV 21 and Concerto for violin and oboe, played by Steinitz Bach Players. They were a joy to work with and listen to!
