Recital at Bangor Cathedral

This Thursday I sang a recital at Bangor Cathedral, accompanied by my good friend Joe Cooper on the piano. The recital explored the different ways the countertenor voice has been used throughout time, ranging from Handelian lovers through to more mystical uses in modern opera and song. Bangor Cathedral’s nave is a glorious place to sing and the audience was very welcoming.

In the afternoon it was a pleasure to work with some talented young singers who sing in the choir there, working on some solos from Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and Vivaldi’s Gloria. The glorious weather made for a wonderful trip!
