King Edward’s School Speech Day

On Saturday I returned to King Edward’s School, Birmingham, to sing and speak at the school Speech Day. I attended KES between 2005 and 2012, and I had a wonderful time at school. It gave me great pleasure to return and see many familiar faces.

I sang Vivaldi’s ‘Vedrò con mio diletto’ from the opera Il Giustino, a personal favourite. I spoke about the fantastic time I had at school, about how I had benefitted in unexpected ways from studying the IB and how the spirit of risk-taking fostered at the school was something that stood me in good stead. I managed to catch a bit of the cricket match the school team was playing afterwards as well; an enjoyable day all round.
